Engine light, Code p601 on 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser

Powertrain Control Module. Price of repair / replacement.
Will this cause inspection failure?
Is this something that can be re-set?

yes it will fail with light and code. pcm about 300-40. has to be flashed as well. drive cycle after that. exspect about 600-700 as a fair estimate.

Ouch!
Alrighty then - how about getting one from the u-pull it
yard & swapping them out? any extra things need to be done?
I have been out of "the business" for 11 years. I can't believe what this stuff costs now. For instance, if I'd
given an estimate of $700 for struts, I would have been
run out of town. Over $600 for a water pump? I would have been out-right murdered. OUCH!
Dealership will charge you 560.00 for the PCM module 95.00 programming fee and 80.00 labor closer to 800.00 when all is said and done
Thank you all.
I just got another car. We are taliking about a 100,000MI plus K car.
If I got this fixed, what would next month's $1,000
repair be?
