ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, DO NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE IN TRUCK, WENT TO AUTOZONE AND PEPBOYS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, THEIR COMPUTER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, IS THE DEALER THE ONLY COMPANY THAT CAN DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM OR IS THERE A BYPASS?

Any reputable repair shop can diagnose a check engine lamp situation. Try searching the AAA website for any AAAR repair shops in your area. The shop will need an up to date computer scanner to determine the DTC (diagnostic trouble code)stored in your cars computer. Once the code or codes are determined then the appropriate diagnosis can begin.

there are times when the scan tool cannot communicate with the pcm. it could be a blown fuse for the cigar lighter. check and see then take it back for your free code pull. Roy
