1990 Chevrolet Camaro Q&A

1990 Chevrolet Camaro Question: engine knock

I have a 355 chevy 4 bl. carb. it started knocking after a hard run is there a way to tell if it is a wrist pin or a rod bearing? -
Answer 1
Sometimes you can tell if it's a rod by quick snapping the accelerator and listening to the sound and then take each plug wire one at a time and pull it off and snapping the accelerater again listening to the differences between cylinders. The affected cylinder will usually quieten down because there is no combustion happening in that cylinder. A wrist pin usually will not change when the above is done. Good luck -
