engine knock on 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse

engines knocks when cold started, then slighty disapates when warmed up, but doesnt go away?

could be bad.change oil with castrol and add a can of restore treatment.

check with a local shop and see if the engine has timing chain or belt. if it's a chain, sounds like the guides are wore. if a belt, could be stretched causing pre-ignition causing a knocking sound.
