engine hesitation on 2006 Kia Sorento

While driving at various speeds engine for a second or two hesitates than stops and works fine and a few days later or hours will do it again. What is the cause as I do not want to get stranded.

If the engine hesitates it is likely to be ignition related but tests would need to be done to confirm if it is a bad spark plug, bad ignition coil or even just bad connections at the coil. Is the check engine light on if so trouble codes are stored in the computer of your car but a scan tool will be needed to retrieve the codes stored. Kia as a car manufacturer put a lot of great technical information and work shop manuals on line for free for Kia owners. www.kiatechinfo.com

When their a a chnage is tempurature either very cold or hot the Sorento hesitates, stalls and sometimes backfires with poor or no acceleration. Have taken into dealer 3 times for same problem.
