2001 Toyota RAV4 Question: engine emits blue smoke at first start

 Rookie

Hi, my engine when cold emits blue smoke for 5 minutes every-time i start then it's gone and back to normal, please kindly help me how i can solve this problem.

    After Engine shuts down hot engine oil is introduced into combustion chamber either by weak or bad cylinder head valve seals or weak or bad engine piston rings. As vehicle sits overnight and vehicle is started excess engine oil in combustion chamber is burned causing blue smoke. Your local repair shop or dealer should perform a diagnostic of your engine to determine overall condition.

    The white smoke from the exhaust is a new development. This wasn't occuring before. Started about 8 months ago and getting worse. Does this info help rule out either bad O rings or head gasket?
