1998 Lincoln Town Car Q&A

1998 Lincoln Town Car Question: engine cranks wont start

the engine cranks but will not start. -
Answer 1
Many things could be occuring here, from an ignition problem to a fuel system issue to a fuel or PCM relay issue. Testing is the only method of narrowing it all down. -
Answer 2
my 98 lincoln continental cranks but wont start unless I disconnect and reconnect the battery for a half hour. WHY!! -
Comment 1
Very hard to determine why; although if I had to guess I would think that perhaps a relay is intermittently failing. When you remove power and add power back, it may be enough to make it work again. The 1998 Continental has a CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module) for one thing, which I believe contains the fuel pump relay. A diagnostic test is really necessary to monitor what is and what is not functioning properly. -
