where is the engine coolant temperature sensor locatwd

  The engine coolant temperature sensor on your 2006 Ford Explorer is located in the thermostat housing which is toward the front of the engine where the upper radiator hose is connected.

• Why is the "check engine soon" light on?
  I had the code read and it says it has something to do with the engine not reaching the proper temp. Any idea why this is happening?
