2005 Infiniti G35 Question: Engine coolant leak?

laylaa56, Austin, TX, June 14, 2010, 15:16

I have a O5' G35 coupe with only 29k miles! It constantly smells like anti-freeze under the hood(not inside the car). I have to re-fill it with coolant almost every week to avoid the car running hot. What could this be?

Water pump, hose, radiator etc You need to have a repair shop pressure test the system to determine exactly what is leaking fluid and you can find a shop here http://repairpal.com/directory?address=78753&car_brand_names=Infiniti

Thank you for responding! The bad news I did take it for a pressure test....there weren't any leaks

Try changing the radiator cap to eliminate this possibility, because the cap has to hold 13 lbs pressure and if its not holding pressure the coolant will constantly be purged out of the system, But make sure you buy one from infinity because of hood clearance problems and change this when the engine is cold or hot coolant can burn you
