Rookie

I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid SE the motor is knocking quite bad and it's extremely loud, the oil is also a milky gray color and it smokes out the tail pipe. it also had leaked radiator fluid out. does any one know what the problem is. when you put water in the radiator it goes right through the engine it has 118,000 miles please help. I'm thinking of replacing the engine, should I or could it be something else

Your engine has serious internal damage, knocking sounds from the engine can be due to crankshaft damage, piston damage or connecting damage. The milky grey colored oil indicates the head gasket is no longer keeping the engine oil and coolant separated. Check the value of the car before investing money in replacing the engine as it is a costly adventure. have the car thoroughly checked out to ensure the car has no other major repairs due.
