Question: emergency brake

 Rookie

My car stopped dead backing out of my garage-wount move.-had it towed to a chrys. dealer he told me that the emergency brake pads are coming apart and will cost $490 to replace. I have NEVER heard of emergency brake pads. Do these exist on this car?
