Question: electronic trailer brakes

Rookie

I went to have the electronic trailer brake module installed in my Aspen. The mechanic says I don't need one, it's built into the vehicle. Is that correct? I have also been told that there is a wire that must be connected in the fuse block to activate the trailer brake system, but I can fine no referance to it in the owners manual.

If a mechanic looked at the car and said that there is already the necessary hardware in place, I'd believe it.

Your car is very new. If you are having trouble figuring out how to set up the factory-installed equipment, I would go to the dealer you purchased it from. They should be able to help, and they shouldn't charge you anything.
