Mercedes-Benz ML350 The Door Locks May Cycle Rapidly

Electrical switches in the door latches can fail, causing the door locks to rapidly actuate up and down multiple times when the locks are activated by either the keyless remote or door lock switch. The affected door latch should be replaced to correct this concern.

My driver door does not lock or unlock! I have to manually lock and unlock only after door is closed ( crawling in from passanger side or back seat) The security system does activate! So if anyone tried to open one of the doors it would trigger the alarm. -
Front passenger door doesn't lock. Actuary switch needs to be replaced. $750 repair. -
Passenger door lock sensor says that the lock is opened even though the door is locked. When driving and stopping the door locks will open and close rapidly a number of times. Was told that it is not the door lock but the Signal Activation Ignition Module that is defective. -
Rear passenger door would try several times to lock causing a rapid fire like noise. I operated the lock manually and noticed it had more resistance than the others so I decided to clean the mechanism with WD40 and then lubricate it with a spray can of white lithium grease. Going on two months now and it is still working fine. Took all of five minutes. -
FRONT PASSANGER SIDE DOOR LOCK IN NOT LOCKING EIGHTER ELECTRICALLY OR MANUALLY. MAKES MACHINE GUN LIKE NOISE WHEN SWITH ON TO LOCK. THIS CAR IS PIECE OF JUNK FOR THE MONEY WE SPENDS. DO NOT BY ANY MERCEDES. IT IS NOT WORTH -
Passenger front and passenger side rear both 'machine gun' when trying to lock doors with remote. Manual attempt is unsuccessful as the lock pin will not push down. -
On my 2003 ML350 the passenger front door fires several times and then fails to lock. You can't even lock the door manually which is a safety concern. I felt it was unsafe to let my family ride in this car when the door couldn't be locked and we could not leave the car unattended which was a unacceptable situation when you are out of town over the holidays. We couldn't get it fixed because shops were closed and we couldn't leave Christmas presents in car because we were afraid someone would steal them. -
Passenger side door lock would rapidly engage/disengage several times when either using keyless remote entry or when using auto lock when driving. Had to replace lock mechanism. -
Driver side door made an embarrassing machine gun noise as the lock cycled rapidly. STEALERship wanted to replace entire door lock actuator BUT an independent dealer in the San Francisco Bay area SIMPLY replaced a spring inside my door lock actuator. I bought the springs from some company in Germany on eBay for less than $20. Search W164 door lock actuator spring in ebay. Oh also buy the door removal kit to avoid scuffs and scratches. Dealer 740.... family mechanic 120 -
Door lock cycles rapidly, does not lock. wd40 helped with repeating cycling, the door still does not lock. -
Rear door lock will not operate. -
the doors unlocked whhile driving and make a clicking noise. -
2nd solenoid failure on doors in 2 years. Obvious problem with this design -
