2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Q&A
2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Question: Electrical Issue
Ignition problems won't cause this. A "scraping sound when starting" could this be the starter is staying engaged/ not releasing from the engine's ring gear, could be due to damaged teeth on the ring gear/flex plate or a bad starter. A clicking sound could be to low a battery voltage, voltage drop due to bad electrical connections or a bad starter. The battery, starting system, and charging system need to be checked out. - patrick mannion
