I know that's enough problem already, but beside these, is there any driveability issue with the engine? Is the check engine light on?
When you sit in the car at the next time and the problem occurs, try to move the ignition key slightly and see if it changes anything.
The ignition switch failure is a common problem on these models.
The other common problem is the ' green death ' when the antifreeze sweeps through the thermostat's electrical harness damaging the DME - it also could cause various electrical and driveability issues.
