Question: Electric doorlock doesn't work

 Rookie

The driver side door lock does not respond to either the interior lock switch or the remote switch on the key. The other door locks work intermittently. I'm being quoted $290 to replace the "actuator" (I think that's what they call it) but they're not sure that's the total problem. Has anyone had this problem or has anyone done this repair? Thanks

    The parts are available at http://www.parts.com/ for about $50 and the book shows the labor at a little less than 1 hour for one actuator, Get a estimate from another shop just to compare prices
