i ve been having a problem with my explore these last couple of days and i was wodering whats going on.i turned my car on this morning pulled out of the drive way i drove about 6 to 8 miles and my explore turns off out of nowhere. the engine light came on and so did the little wrench on the left side of the dash board . i put the explore in park turn it off and wait for a couple of minutes then i turned it on put it on drive and the same thing happend again i did the same thing again waited for 5 more minutes the took off after that i drove for about 5 extra miles the it started to pull on me like it wasnt shifting gears . i was looking it up and only found that it could be the tps but not sure. is this and eingine problem or is it just a sensor that needs to be replaced . thank you for the input on my question

Where does the overheating come into play? I didn't get that from your story, just the title.

The wrench light is pretty indicative of an issue with the electronic throttle body on the vehicle. This vehicle features "drive by wire" - using sensors and electronics instead of an accelerator cable to operate the throttle. In many cases, the ETB itself fails causing the concern you are experiencing. I would suggest a proper diagnosis first, but figure on probably needing the ETB replaced.
