2000 Pontiac Grand Am Question: egnition switch will not turn

 Rookie

Key will not turn, tried Lube, Diffrent spare key, turning wheel , making sure on park...... A few times before Ihad to put foot on break for the key to turn now it does not turn at all. Please help

    It sounds like the ignition lock cylinder has failed on your 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. The ignition switch will need to be removed to replace the lock cylinder. If the cylinder cannot be removed the ignition switch may need to be replaced also.

    mine has a switch on the brake pedal that releases the trans you have to press down the brake pedal to get it out of park this switch can go bad mine did on newer models they tell me it could lock key and or the wheel
