Question: DTC misfire on cylinder 3

Question

CEL came on steady, then began flashing for short periods... while flashing car ran very rough and wouldn't accelerate well. Almost acted as though running out of gas. Then in 20 seconds or so would be smooth while light was steady.
When checked the diagnostic code was DTC misfire on cylinder 3.

What engine 3.8 or 5.7? The ignition systems are different i think. On the 3.8 6 coils. On the 5.7 distributor system. I think!
Could be a bad coil on 3.8 or plug or wire if lntermittent spark. Cold be cap wire or plug on 5.7. Again if spark is the problem.

also check for spark to # 3 as needed and if it has spark check compression? If plug is oil fouled , it may have other internal problem?
