Question: driving van and it acts like it has jumped out of gear

 Rookie

i am driving and then while im accellerating it hesitates the "CLUMP POPS" BACK INTO GEAR ITS LIKE IT goes in and out of gear at random ive taken it to 3 trans mission shops but they say its not the tranny and today after driving it for like 30 mins it wouldnt start the battery is good couldnt get a "rrri" from the engine just turned key and nothing

    I have put 120,000 miles on mine, it has done this the whole time. I just move the shift lever up or down and it goes away, never have been able to figure it out.

    FOUND OUT I NEEDED A LONG OVERDUE TUNE UP
    AFTER NEW PLUGS N WIRES AND FILTER PROBLEMS GONE!!

    I had a similar issue. I had the timing adjusted and now the isue is gone.

    The problem is in the rear end. Have the fluid changed and additive added. Works great.

    I had a similar problem but it was an intermittent problem and the symptom was more like getting a kick in the butt. I won't bore you with the 7 weeks of trying to figure it out but it turned out to be the computer.
