As my question summary says, my seatbelt gets soaked whenever it rains or goes through a car wash. I had it checked out by the dealer almost 2 years ago, and was told that it "might" be a welding issue and that the repair would cost me around $800. A lot of money on a guess! I decided to let it go than to pay that amount, but now the problem is getting to me. Now the inside A pillar gets soaked as well as with the headliner along the door. And to add, my car has this musty smell to it after it rains and dries. Does anyone have a theory or a solution to this problem? Thank you.

Your car will need to be water tested to find out where the leak is coming from. Time will need to be taken to remove the interior trim from the affected area. Water can then be sprayed onto the exterior, the technician inside can then see exactly where the water is coming in. Depending on the mileage on your Honda once you know the exact cause of your water leak I would suggest you contact Honda customer service to see if they will help with the cost of the repairs. Unfortunately the musty smell may be difficult to get rid of. Once the leak is corrected and the interior is dried then spraying a disinfectant such as Lysol under the carpets may help with the smell.
