My driver side window only works intermitantly, but mostly not at all. When the switch is toggled you hear no motor noise. Then out of the blue you try the switch and the window works but only for a short time or until you turn the ignition off. This is rare but sometimes if I bang the inside of the door with my hand it will work for a short period.
Doesnt seem like a bad motor issue.Could it be the switch or wiring??

sounds like the motor is bad, it will start but is shorted out and gets hot then won't work. After time it will get worse until it won't work at all. Don't beat your car up, remove the door panel check to see that your getting 12 volts power to both sides of the motor if so check the ground to be sure the motor is getting a ground. If all that checks out replace the motor. if not check the switch for short.
