I can open the door using the little lock lever, but the driver side door does not lock either with the key or remote lock/open. It just started happening, and I have discovered others have had this problem as well. Any one know what this might cost to repair, and/or what actually is wrong with it?

sounds like the door lock actuator is bad or the rods have fallen off could cost between 100.00 and 300.00 depending on what is wrong

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. I tend to believe that it is the actuator because when I try to lock it I can hear the actuator clicking several times before it stops. Again, thanks for your help.

My wife's drivers side door lock recently started doing just as you described. Do you know of any links/videos on how to replace a door actuator for a 2007, mercury milan?
