Question: Driver Seat not working

I dont know why but my drivers seat seems to stop working, and then randomly starts working weeks or months later for a very short period of time, my passenger side power seat works perfectly.
Any suggestions

  do all the functions stop working? back, fore, up, down, tilt? if all are out check the circuit breaker (i think its under the hood or poss under dash). if only 1 or 2 funtions are inop is the switch ok? if the cap falls off the switch and is not put back correctly it can hinder operation.

  ...about a fuse. So i was wondering if there is a fuse or relay located somewhere else or if the power seat control is just shot.
