1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Q&A

1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Question: Drive cycle

Recently replaced EGR valve. Then reset On- Board Diagnostic system. Emission failed inspection because vehicle is in the NOT READY status. May resolve by completing a DRIVE CYCLE. How do I do this, because I cannot afford a mechanic. Please help asap. -
Answer 1
Just drive the car normaily for about a week (50-75 miles various driving conditions) and the ready status should be complete to the point where the somg check will show ready. You can ask the somg check techician to check the readyness status before the test is redone to be sure. -
