The crankshaft angle sensor or the camshaft position sensor can fail and cause loss of engine power, an engine that cuts out, and other drivability problems. This will cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Certain models have been involved in a recall to replace the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. Loss of power

My 2003 I35 is suddenly losing power and has reduced power. The car can die or surge. Several lights on the dash come on including TCS, SLIP & Service Engine Soon. I called the Infiniti dealer about the recall for Engine and Engine Cooling because the car has the same symptoms but I was told my car is NOT covered under the recall based on the VIN. From what I'm reading, this issue is more widespread than the dealer admits.
