Douglas Auto has been taking care of my cars for the last 6 years. Both are older, high-mileage cars that need ongoing maintenance. Ty is always cognizant of my budget and recommends what the 'must' repairs are for safety & operation. We have a working list of items they are checking on each visit if signs of age/disrepair are beginning to show. I highly recommend Douglas Auto!

I was not charged when nothing was found to be wrong with my car despite my car being kept and tested for two days. That is a major reason why I returned to Douglas. There is honesty and integrity present and I appreciate how everything is explained.

I am so surprised at what I experienced at Douglas Automotive. My car was in need to tires and the staff could not have been more professional and helpful. Taking a car in for service can be quite intimidating for me, but they made me feel right at home and took the time to explain all my options for purchasing new tires. The shop was clean and didn't have that nasty gas/rubber smell. I even had a chance to catch up on some work on the computer while I waiting for the tires to be installed. But what REALLY surprised me is when they drove the up to the door and I realized they had washed it! Talk about going and beyond! This place is great. I'll go back for sure and tell my friends as well.

Took my car in for a 150 multi point inspection because I did not know the service history of vehicle. Was charged $75 for the estimate. I was told the car would be ready within 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. My car inspection was completed in roughly 2 hours. Was told what was need to be done to the vehicle and to return to pick up the estimate. I saw a displeased customer come into the shop and complain about a failed water pump as I was sitting in the waiting room for car to be finished. Picked up estimate next day and the price without tires came out to over $2,700! I went and got a second opinion as well as another multi point inspection estimate and second repair shop said their is no charge for the inspection and infomed me that I did not need my injectors cleaned, rear brake light does work, power sterring rack is working correctly no leaks and battery does not need to be replaced and has no corrosion. Douglas Automotive will tell you what they think needs to be done to your car in order to make a larger profit! Don't fall for it, save your hard earned money and get a second opinion! My estimate did not even include tires which they forgot to put on it along with the "power steering rack problem" and "rear brake light out" and the estimate was not completed until the next day. Only reason this shop was given two stars for customer service is because I met the owner Doug McAlister the following day after the inspection and he seemed friendly as did the advisor Ty and service technician. The technician that did the inspection on my car wouldn't even look at me when he was discribing the services the car needed and talked directly to the service advisor. That's when it heightend my awareness that this shop is somewhat deceptive on certain things. The labor for work on vehicles is 100% mark up as well as their parts. Yes, they have an industries leading 36 month / 36,000 miles warranty on all parts and labor but when your on a budget in a downed economy you need to be careful who to trust. Other shop has been completely honest with me on all work that need to be performed and have had everything done for $1,000 less covered by a 12 / 12,000 mile warranty, with friendly customer service. I sat with Doug in the office to come up with a preventive maintnance schedule he kept getting up to attend to other customers and the phone. Treat customers with full attention and pay attention to their needs as I may have done business with this place at a later date but after my experience I won't.
