Door Weatherstrip Falls Off on Ford Transit Connect
2014 Ford Transit Connect 3,000 mi, Visitor
Didn't take long ...owned it for 3 months and on a rainy day I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw them side strips on the back sliding doors flapping in the wind. Since they were half-off I just pulled them off. Drove the dealership and also pointed out that there is a problem with rubber trim on all windows, appearing to fade and there is a baked on sealer stain on them causing more discoloration. WHAT? Ford didn't call back after this complaint yet...and I went to another dealership that put the side rubbers on ..only to have them fall off an hour later. Now a new problem -- the spring and rubber washer that are on the door itself which pertrude and affect the ability to shut the side doors -- rotted and fell off along with the spring...again, on another rainy day. And I thought my 2000 windstar was bad -- not so;...in fact it's a luxury mobile compared to the transits cheap plastic investments. WILL be complaining to FMCompany very soon on this lemon.

The weatherstripping on driver's door fell off. Only the top piece. It was replaced for $130 at dealer. Weatherstripping on passenger window (just top piece) also loose. Purchased special glue to try to fix myself. Haven't done yet. There is no "body channel" to help hold weatherstripping; it is just glued on.

Several pieces of the weather stripping has fallen loose at times; the dealer eventually decided to replace all of it, though 2 pieces have since fallen off also.

door weatherstrip falls off
The door weatherstrip attached to the body at the top of the door has fallen off (both front doors) on all of these vehicles we've owned.
