door lock malfunction on 2005 Jaguar X-Type

driver's door will not open when unlocked electronically or by key (in the last 3 months, this has happened 3-4times). I've had to go to passenger side to enter car, reach over & unlock from inside. but today, it would not unlock from inside. had to climb over console & drive a while. then the door would open. what's going on?

The problem is in the rod between the door pull and lock. There is a recall or TSB, anyway I got my fixed for nothing by Jaguar Hartford, CT

I have the same problem with my jaguar x type (2002), only it is the passenger door. Did you find a solution? like you if I drive a little it unlocks - really annoying. Would love to know how to sort this out...

I have the same issue with the passenger door of my 2005 X-type. It seems to "get ouf of synch" for a few days then goes back to normal. I think pressing the unlock key too many times causes it.

Disconnect the NEGATIVE ground from the battery, let it sit for 2 or 3 minutes. Reconnect and problem should go away.
