1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Question: does this sound like i need a pcm or something else..

Rookie

well i have a 98 jeep grand cherokee limited edition. for the last three or so mths it has been jerking cutting off in the middle of road..it takes like 5 or 6 times to get it back started. first i thought it was a kill switch i had on my car but i got that remove.and its still doing it..I took my car to jeep dealer and explain the problem with the service tech he automatically said it is the pcm...he did not put it on the machine or nothing. can someone please let me know

have it scan tested for codes

Did you ask for a diagnosis? of course not, that is why they did not waste their time diagnosing it first. I would either trust them that it would fix it...or pay for a diagnosis to find out what is really wrong.

when i told him what the problem was he just blurted out and said that...he did not give me or my boyfriend the chance to even ask him to put it on the machine..he said its the pcm its a thousand dollars....and that was it...i already know that they chrge the 100 dollars to look at it on the machine..the thing is he was rude and he didnt give us a chance to ask...
