Does power flush on automatic transmission help prevent transmission failure? on 2004 Honda CR-V

Honda recommends power flush on all automatic transmissions every 3 years. Is this helpful or can it cause problems?

It should be called a transfusion of fluid in my opinion. The term flush is not a accurate discription but everyone seem to want to call it a flush. We do that service in our shop and its main benefit is it changes all the fluid in a transmission versus a drain and refill does not. I think its a good service but we do not doing it on centain makes of transmiisions after the car goes over 100k miles and if its never been serviced previously.

From bookreader: Thank-you. I feel more confident about having it done. Although the car has only 42K miles, it is 8 yrs. old.
