2001 Hyundai Santa Fe Question: does my car need a new timing belt

 Rookie

after running errands for a few hours in the heat...the car will not turn off even after I take the key out. also after I fill up with gas it takes 4 to 5 tries to get the engine to fire up and stay running.

    Sorry if I sound rude, but the engine wouldn't even run if the timing belt was bad. I think you need someone locally to help you diagnose this issue. Maybe an ignition issue, but it needs to be verified.
