I HAVE ASKED FOR HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM BEFORE...MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON WITH A CODE OF PO401, WHICH IS INSUFFICIENT AIR FLOW. I HAVE HAD THE EGR SOLENOID, VALVE AND VACUUM HOSE REPLACED AND THE TUBING AND ORIFICE HAS BEEN CLEANED OF CARBON. RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM I READ WHERE THE DPFE SENSOR COULD BE THE PROBLEM, BUT MY MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS NO DPFE SENSOR IN A MITSUBISHI. IS THAT TRUE? COULD IT BE A COMPUTER ISSUE AND HOW DO YOU KNOW IF IT IS? PLEASE HELP I AM DESPERATE FOR ANSWERS.I HAVE USED THE MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND PRECISION AUTO.
DOES A 2001 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE HAVE A DPFE SENSOR AND IF SO WHERE IS IT LOCATED? on 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse

no, there is no delta pressure sensor. i would be looking at the pcm for a failure particularly if the egr solenoid shorted. when that happens, it fries the pcm. you need a shop familiar with these types of repairs. Roy

I have seen Mitsubishi PCM problems. If you do think it is a PCM problem I have sent my computer's to Fuel Injection Corporation in Livermore CA, they can test the computers tell you they definitely found a problem and repair it for you. 2407 Research Drive Livermore, CA 94550-3851 (925) 371-6551 Call them see if they have seen a problem in that circuit on that car.
