Dodge Maintenance Procedures - Common Additional Services

Dodge Air Filter Replacement

The air filter accumulates dust and debris and should be replaced to protect the engine and maximize fuel economy. For optimal engine performance and longevity, replace every 1 year or 15,000 miles.

Dodge Cabin Air Filter Replacement

Over time the Cabin Filter(s) will accumulate dirt, pollen and debris which can leak in to the passenger compartment if left unchecked. They should be replaced every year or 15,000 miles.

Dodge Scheduled Maintenance Parts

In order to run, the engine needs a precise mixture of fuel and air. When outside air is drawn into the engine, the air filter prevents harmful dirt and debris from entering the system.
The alternator belt is a flexible rubber belt driven by the engine to power the alternator. The alternator belt can be the common "V" profile or the more modern flat-ribbed style.
Automatic transmission fluid is a lightweight oil that is used to operate the hydraulic mechanisms in an automatic transmission, provide lubrication, and act as a coolant for the transmission. When new, it's usually a cranberry red color.
The cabin air filter prevents dust, pollen, and other debris from entering the passenger compartment through the climate control (HVAC) system.
Coolant is the fluid that flows through the engine’s cooling system. Its main purpose is to transfer heat generated by the engine to the radiator so the engine doesn’t overheat.
These belts can be used individually or grouped together as part of the belt/pulley system that is driven by the engine crankshaft to run such items as the air conditioning compressor, alternator, and power steering pump.
Engine oil provides lubrication for all internal moving parts of an engine. It also helps conduct heat away from these components.
The oil drain plug gasket seals the oil drain plug where it connects to the oil pan.
The engine oil filter removes contaminants from the engine oil before it circulates throughout the engine.
The spark plug uses the energy produced by the ignition coil to generate the spark necessary to ignite the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. The platinum/iridium spark plug uses harder metals on the electrodes, which increases their life to over 100,000 miles in most applications.

Would not cover the remainder, $870 for fluid changes, PVC valve etc, because live in area where might have excessive idling and stop and go traffic. Was not told this when I purchased the warranty. Is this correct?

My wife took the truck in yesterday for a warranty repair. Last night she tells me they recommended that the transmission be flushed and the rear differential service be performed.

First response was that they were crazy. Second response is that I'm ticked off. They implied that if she did not have the work perfiormed that it would void her warranty.
