Dodge Ram 2500 Recall 09V078000
The Clutch May Not Disengage Due to a Disconnected Clutch Pedal Connecting Rod
Drive Train, June 1, 2009
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
The clutch operates with a hydraulic system, much like the brake system. The rod that connects the clutch pedal to this hydraulic system may come apart, which would keep the clutch from working.
What Should You Do?
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noted with the operation of the clutch. Please contact your Dodge dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The clutch pedal connecting rod to the clutch master cylinder may become disconnected. This would make the clutch impossible to disengage. Dealers will replace the clutch master cylinder hydraulic system. The Chrysler recall number is J08. This recall began during April, 2009.
