Potental Fuel Leak After Refueling
Body, Interior & Misc., April 6, 2009
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
Some fuel may leak from the fuel filler neck after refueling is complete, increasing the risk of a fire.
What Should You Do?
Please contact your Chrysler dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The fuel tank filler tube inlet check valve may not fully close when refueling is complete. This could allow some fuel to leak from the filler neck at the end of refueling, increasing the risk of a fire. Dealers will inspect the fuel inlet check valve. If the check valve does not meet specification, the fuel tank will be replaced. This recall is expected to begin during April 2009. The Chrysler recall number is H45.
