Their Customer Service Rep is great. Their workmanship is first-rate, and their mechanics are the best. Their rates are among the most affordable. They back their repairs with a full warranty.
Primary reason for service was to replace both head lamps. They both had failed (one had been out and the other failed that day). The shop had my car before 8:00 on Tuesday. They didn't even begin work on the headlamp as of 4:45. I called requesting an update around noon and around 3 and I was reassured it would be ready. It wasn't. Because of the incorrect information, I didn't have a chance to rent a car for the following day, either. I work in Santa Clara. The car wasn't driveable without headlights. It got worked out by 5:00 the next day. I had to ask my boss to allow me to work from home for 2 days (instead of the 1 that was promised). The GM was apologetic. It was a bad experience all the same.
Came in for an oil change without a seasonal mail in coupon, was given the coupon price regardless. Great service.
I expected to have to leave the car, but they were ready to start work at the time of my appointment. I got my car back on time.

Everything was fine
I was surprised this shop took my car in without doubt that they could diagnose the problem cause I own a high-end Porsche SUV. I will get future repairs and maintenance done here. It's not too far from where I live. Also I will recommend this shop.

Overall a really good experience. The only elements that kept it from being excellent, were:
A. Extra work was suggested/required after the initial diagnosis, which should have been detected open the initial inspection. (Ball joints and idler arms, for one side was the original work estimate, then the second side was added days later.
B. Part of the work was new headlamps, which were installed but not adjusted, resulting in opting to only travel during the day due to inadequate visibility.

I always enjoy coming into Doc Auto because they treat me like they care.
On my last visit, I came in for an oil change, but they found that there was something else wrong with my car that was actually rather dangerous, something that would cost a lot more to fix.
It was very clear from the beginning that they cared for my safety and wanted to have the job done at minimal cost to me. They even called my car company for me to try and see if we could get it covered under the warranty. We found out that this job would both be covered and that it would total out to around $680. I authorized for them to do the repairs, though the price was actually quite out of my budget.
It turned out that the original issue they found was actually a result of something much easier to repair, which was in fact covered under my warranty. They informed me of this and told me that I could get it fixed for free if I went into the dealership. So they only charged me for the oil change, even though they could have made much more on the job they had originally quoted to me.
This experience showed me how honest and dedicated Doc Auto is to their customers.
