I put a new engine in my 93 ranger 4.0L. I failed to put the assembly that has a small shock absorber on the drivers side of the engine block, is it needed? can it go without?

It helps with the torque of the engine while driving. You can do what you want but you could create more problems down the road if you leave it off. Good Luck.
