Do you have to remove the timeing belt on a 98 GS300 to replace the water pump?

according to alldata, no the timing belt does not have to be removed. but you are right there and if you are doing the pump, it may be advised to replace the belt as the labor is not much more to perform this service. was this reccomended to you?? Roy

I've gotten conflicting responses from different repair shops. I'm trying to decide if I want to do the repair myself. Thanks!
