Do I need whole headlamp or just harness for passenger headlight? on 2009 Pontiac G6

have replaced passenger headlight bulb, but, recently discovered wires within harness that are all fried and worn out. Body shop tried another harness only high beam worked, not low beam. How do I know if i need entire headlamp or just harness? huge price difference and w/o light in the meantime.
