2002 Ford Taurus Question: do i need to change the transmission filter when changing the transmission fluid

do i need to change the transmission filter when i change the transmission fluid. car has almost 160,000 miles on it. the color of the transmission fluid is broen and there is no chunks or forgien particals in it.

    Yes, change the filter. Best thing would be to flush the fluid completely. Many shops have the ability to do a transmission flush, I recommend get it done.

    Yes, change the filter and flush it also. After this service it should be fine to only flush the trans fluid as long as you proform the service regularly.

    Yes, you definitely need to change transmission filter every time you change the transmission fluid.
