2005 Hyundai Santa Fe Q&A

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe Question: Do I need a timing belt replace soon ? Mileage 109000 (approx)

I had it changed (Hyndai shop advised) when the mileage was 59000. -
Answer 1
Was anything else replaced at that time, like the water pump? Need to know what was installed then. 50,000 on it now, you can wait awhile. Make sure a new crank pulley bolt is installed this trip!!! Hyundai will know about that for sure!! So will anyone else that has worked on many of these engines! Call Hyundai to find out what is recommended @ this mileage. I know there are service bulletins that need to be checked! Consider replacement of the crank sensor as well. -
Answer 2
Recommended interval is every 60,000 miles or 48 months, whichever comes first. We would also recommend the water pump, timing belt idler pulleys and timing belt tensioner at this time. -
