Question: Do I have to pay for an emmisions P1 recall in California on my 2003 Beatle

 Rookie

I beleive the ignition coils have been recalled, will i have to pay for the repairs? DMV wont proccess my tags until i have proof they have been replaced with the new parts

    You will need to contact your local Volkswagen Dealer to complete the recall repair if it has not been done yet. There will be no charge for the recall specific repair. Only the dealer can perform the recall repair without charging you.
