2005 Ford Taurus Q&A

2005 Ford Taurus Question: Do I have a fuel pump problem?

My car has almost 98k and has never given any problems. A few weeks ago the engine light came on but car was running fine. It went off after a few days. We took the car in for a tune up to fix whatever might be wrong sincve it did die a few times after putting it in park. Thought a tune up would fix it. Now, after getting it back from the shop, it has dies 2 times on me. Once at a stop sign. It will just stop. but I can restart it and it is fine. It just cranks like there was no problem and it gives no warning. Could this be a pump or filter problem...I really do not think it is the transmission... -

look at this article I wrote about the check engine Light and what it means. The Check Engine Light has to do with your Power Train Computer and Emissions System, if there is a problem, often your car will not run correctly. You may have a defective Cam or Crank Sensor, but check the codes first http://repairpal.com/check-engine-light -
