It is likely either the distributor seized or the timing belt has broken which on this engine would cause a lot of damage.

How hard is it to replace a distributor on a 2002 Nissan Xterra?
it happens after it warms up and usually when trying to reach hyway speeds
...driving about 65mph and it just stalled out. No warning or no prior warnings/activity. changed distributor/and plugs. engine turns over but it s not igniting.
