Question: display sreen shorting out

displays sreen lights up, but when you touch the screen you may get almost any result--radio on/off, a/c off, etc. All the controls on either side of the screen work, as well as the controlls on sterring wheel. dealer says it is a short and can not be fixed. Must buy new screen. OUCH!

    There is a fellow in San Francisco that repairs Lexus instruments he is quite good, and reasonable he may have an answer for you Mikado Instrument Repair.
    1435 Hunt Ave., South San Francisco 94080, (650)615-9966 . Another company in New England somewhere I think there name is BBS or three letters repair a lot of European instruments.
