I bought some expensive ceramic brakes pads, so can anybody provide me with instructions on how to remove and replace the front and rear brake pads? I need to do it within the next 500 miles.

2001 Acura CL Type S

Thanks in advance

Brake open wheel lug nuts prior to jacking up your car. Jack up you car and support with a jack stand, Open the bottom caliper bolt I think you will need a 14 or 17mm socket. Pivot the caliper upwards, crack open the brake bleed screw and push the piston full inward expelling brake fluid from the brake bleeder screw, tighten the bleed screw once the piston has been fully retracted so as not to allow air to enter the brake hydraulic system. Inspect the caliper piston dust boot, insure the caliper guide pins are free, (lubricate both caliper guide pins with high temperature brake grease). Fit the brake pads, anti squeal shims, and hardware. Prior to fitting the road wheel, sit in the car (engine off, press the brake pedal six or seven times until brake pedal is firm and hard, you may need to get an assistant to press the brake pedal to the floor, hold the pedal to the floor while you crack open the brake bleeder screw to "bleed the brakes". Place the wheel back on, top up the brake fluid in the fluid resivoir and repeat the procedure on the other side.
