    Key turning is possibly the key is worn and/or tumblers in key lock cylinder worn as well or dry and sticking. Try another good key, if still hard to turn, maybe need to replace the key lock cylinder. The shifter will not release if the key doesn't turn to allow it it to unlock. If the key turns and the shifter will not move then consider #1 answer.

    it's the park safety switch inside steering column. the pin is suppose to drop down when brake is pressed so you can pull it out of park. pull pin down manually a couple of times and it might work again! I had same issue,
