2006 Cadillac SRX Q&A

2006 Cadillac SRX Question: DIFFERENTIAL SEALS

MY SRX IS LEAKING FLUID FROM REAR END. THE VENT LINE THAT CADILAC SAID TO ADD HAS BEEN DONE. WHAT SHOULD IT COST TO REPLACE ALL THE SEALS ON THE REAR END? VEHICLE IS REAR DRIVE. -
Answer 1
OK first there's the pinion shaft seal where the drive shaft is located and the labor to replace this seal is 2.8 hours plus the seal (dealer item) then there's the axle seals on both sides and the labor for both is 1.9 hours plus the seals (AC Delco $20) each. But I would get another opinion for a different shop here http://repairpal.com/directory?address=36571&car_brand_names=Cadillac -

The rear axle pinion seal may leak causing fluid loss and possible internal rear end damage. Replacing the faulty seal will commonly correct this concern.
