Question: Did i have to do an alignment when i did the rack &pinion replacement?

I just did a rack & pinion repair.the mechanic told me I had to do an alignment at the same time, wich i had done not long ago,was that necesary?

    It is a good idea to get an alignment since the tie rods have to be removed to remove the old rack.

    absolutely. it is imperative to have the front end aligned to insure steering stability and proper tire wear.
